Trip Out In Mackum Land

Its the Summer Holidays on the 15/08/11 & Mums at work in Newcastle while the rest of us well I say rest of us, Dad is preparing the picnic for the day out. Before we set off Ella, Finn & I were thinking Andy Mcleavy was coming but he was gardening when he hurt his back so he didn't come.

We set off Ella obsessed of going in the front while the two brothers were the back. On the way Ella was obsessed with the window because it was the electric window in the front. We got to the Tyne Tunnel, paid, entered the tunnel & of course Ella had to have her window down so I was holding my nose as all the fumes were coming in. Ella & Finn laughing their heads off because I was holding my nose. No reason really to laugh its natural that's what noses are for smelling, if the smell isn't nice just like the tunnel hold your nose. Its so natural.

We finally arrived at Greatham Creek everyone out. Dad was talking to this bloke about the bird we were looking for a Wilson's Phalarope not there so no wasting time got everyone belted in (again) & off we went strolling along the busy countryside road then we arrived at Salthome RSPB Nature Reserve. Everyone out Dad & I got our telescopes & off we went to the main hide its the Summer Holidays Hide Full. So we went to the board thingis to look at the lake. Two Little Egret's just standing there like they were frozen icebergs. We set off again through the Car Park & to the paths leading to different lakes we went to a hide a few people in but the scooted off after a few minutes then a noisy bunch of kids with their parents came along making a racket in the hide. Luckily didn't freak out the birds in the lake. There was one Wood Sandpiper, Lesser Black-backed gull along with dozens of Canada Geese.

We walked about under half a mile to this bigger lake where there was loads of different blokes with their telescopes & bins. The Blue-Ringed Teal was so popular must be a celebrity or something. We were just doing nothing while dad was looking at the celebrity bird wating for several minutes for him to get board of it. We started walking back when Finn the big moaner in the family started getting little bits of gravel in his shoe so I decided to sing a song to get his mind of it. When we took his shoe off there was nothing there so he was just trying to tell us in a weird way that he was tired. The singing finally got his mind off it. We arrived back at the centre when dad went to put the scopes away & get the picnic. While we were standing in the disabled area then just several yards away I spotted a juvinille Red Fox just walked right past us. Behind it were this couple just follwoing it but it didn't even notice them. Picnic over then a bit of playtime but for dad it was iphone time for him. Play over when we went to look in the shop I got a British Wildlife Detectives Handbook. While Ella & Finn got something that their not going to really use.

We traveled along the road to this type of Harbour where there were about 20 Grey Seals lying on the sea bead. I had a look wasn't that intrested but I looked anyway.

We set off again over to Seaburn beach but the tide was in but so. We had a little walk round the corner where there were another two blokes watching the Bonaparts Gull. Well you know dad had to get his telescope up to see it. After a little while these teenagers came along climbing over the fence onto the rocks good job the lifegaurds were on patrol incase one of them suddenly got pushed in by the wind. The twins & I were having a good time looking for ladybirds we found lots but mainly squashed ones.

On our way back home Finn let Ella go in the front headed back through the tunnel luckily the windows were up this time. Dad dropped me off at the Chippy to get some chips for tea so I got them but he just drove off home leaving his son to walk back home when we've nearly been walking all day. We got our tea then that was all the work done for the day.

Ella & Finn.

I have a brother& sister they are twins they are cute. They can climb the stairs by themselves and they can get on the sofa themselves. They are called Ella & Finn.

Wigwam

My dad and I went to Howick. We went on a big rock, it was very very slippery because of all the seaweed. We saw a Eider duck, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and two Shelduck. We saw some Meadow Pipits. It was a long walk. There was two Coast Guards they were doing a practice there was a blown up man just like a balloon. We went in the woods there was a little river and there was a cave well not a very good cave you couldn't get in the cave there was only some little holes. There was a wigwam, it looked dark from the outside but not as dark in the inside.
